SBB wanted to offer tickets for international connections too when booking rail journeys online for Euro 08. A large number of different IT infrastructures had to be connected for this purpose. bbv supported SBB in the automatic testing and quality assurance of the new portal.
Various IT systems of international rail companies were to be integrated for international online bookings of train connections for private and business customers at the European Championships. Regression tests were to be used to ensure that the existing functions would continue to function without errors. bbv was commissioned for quality assurance purposes.
Coordinating the technically diverse IT infrastructures and connecting to two different sales channels represented a special challenge. bbv was able to save time and costs in development with manual tests initially and then automated tests. The resources freed up as a result were used to increase the test coverage.
