The sensors integrated in transformers of high-voltage systems measure current and voltage. The plan was to connect these sensors to high-precision meters and integrate them in the metering system of a ZxQ meter. bbv developed the software for Landis+Gyr based on an ARM platform.
Modern transformers in high-voltage systems supply current and voltage values via sensors. The sensors were to be connected directly to high-precision meters to enable cost-efficient system solutions without the use of transducers. This was to give rise to a prototype of a real-time protocol converter for the ZxQ metering system.
bbv developed the software for an ARM platform with an Ethernet interface. The protocol converter was connected to the metering system interface of the meter, the protocol was implemented over Ethernet in line with IEC61850-9-2 and energy values were calculated from the sensor values. bbv was able to successfully complete the project in a short period of time.
