Junior IT staff are a key priority for us. We want to create a sense of enthusiasm among young people for the topic of IT and are committed to promoting junior IT staff. We support a variety of projects in this regard and are actively involved in some of them ourselves.
Whether it’s the CoderDojo at the bbv office in Lucerne, the International Mathematics and Logic Games Championship, the national ‘Future Day’, ICT Scouts or HSR AppQuest, we are keen to support the next generation of IT talent in as many different ways as possible.
The following are some of the projects we support:
- International Championship for Mathematical and Logical Games
We support the International Championship for Mathematical and Logical Games in our role as sponsors. The championships are open to pupils from year 3 upwards, students and adults who like to puzzle and ponder until they have smoke coming out of their ears! - National ‘Future Day’
We open our doors every year on National Future Day. We invite our employees’ children in years 5 to 7 to sample the working world as a software engineer. We hope that our apprentices will inspire a spark of enthusiasm for IT. - ICT-Scouts
The intention of the ICT Scouts friends’ association is to make it easier for young talented individuals to begin working life as apprentices. Scouts can find new ICT talent at all levels with ICT projects that are embedded in teaching and instruction. The young talents are supported in ICT camps in line with their abilities and are introduced to the business world.
Fostering future talent with CoderDojo
Learn how to program with CoderDojo Lucerne! Children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17 meet once a month at the CoderDojo at our bbv office in Lucerne. They get to know the world of programming in a playful manner from dedicated software engineers. We would love to see you at the next CoderDojo.
bbv is a member of ICT Scouts/Campus
ICT Scouts/Campus promotes talent in computer science and STEM subjects through nationwide workshops in primary schools and through individual support at the ICT Campus at numerous locations across Switzerland. This also includes networking with training companies and higher education institutions. The project aims to actively tackle the shortage of skilled workers in Switzerland.

Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts
The close cooperation with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a particular passion of ours. And one that we further intensified with our support for the establishment of the Computer Science department. It is important to us to underpin the training of the next generation of computer scientists and to promote innovation in research and development in the region.
